HERE’S HOW ELIZABETH HURLEY HAS EVOLVED HER FITNESS HABITS AND DIET ACROSS THE YEARS TO REMAIN GLAMOROUS BEYOND HOLLYWOOD

Besides starring in iconic films like the Austin Powers movies, Elizabeth Hurley has remained committed to fitness for decades. However, at 60, the veteran actor’s approach to fitness doesn’t fit the traditional mold.

Elizabeth Hurley practices NEAT

The Austin Powers actress doesn’t spend much time in the gym. She believes regular day-to-day chores are enough to maintain her physique, and her method even has a name: NEAT.

NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. In simple terms, NEAT movements have nothing to do with traditional high-intensity exercise or weightlifting. Instead, it focuses on functional everyday movements.

“So I believe in being active, going for walks, stretching, maybe a little yoga or a little Pilates. But I don’t like high-impact, high-energy sports,” Elizabeth Hurley said in a conversation with US Weekly back in 2018.

She further added, “As long as you get your heart rate to the rate you need it to get, which is a fast walk. But you need to do a bit of it,”

Well, what about her diet? She must be having green juices all day, right? My friend, you’d be wrong again.

Hurley’s Dieting Mantra

When it comes to nutrition, Hurley has some ground rules. “So here goes. My mantra is: don’t eat too much, too fast, too often, or too late. Or put another way, eat smaller meals, chew properly, ban snacking, and eat dinner earlier,” said Liz Hurley.

However, the 60-year-old is not a fan of fad diets or taking supplements without consulting her physician. “I don’t drink weird green juices or shakes and only take supplements if a blood test tells me I’m lacking something,” she revealed.

“I try to have vegetables or fruit equal to half of every plate I eat. For example, if I have a sandwich, I also eat an apple,’ she added.

However, unlike her specific approach to how and when she eats, Hurley is much more flexible about what she eats. “I eat pretty much everything but only have junk food as an absolute treat – and I count junk food as anything that contains any ingredient that I don’t have in my own kitchen,” she explained.
