The Top 10 Food Trends That Are Going To Pop Off In 2023, According To Whole Foods

I 'm already hungry AF. If you're looking for a sign to mix things up in your diet in the new year, this is it. Whole Foods Market has revealed their top 10 anticipated food trends for 2023, and I highly recommend a look through to see which products they expect to skyrocket in popularity. This is the eighth time that more than 50 Whole Foods Market staff members (called the "Trends Council") have come together to release its annual trend predictions. And the products weren’t just picked out of a hat—these decisions are based on lots of research into customer preference, product sourcing, and workshops with different brands. Some trends are based on actual themes that are rising in popularity (like "Climate-Conscious Callouts"), while others are focused on singular products (like an "Avocado Oil Craze"). You can expect the list to range from environmental preservation efforts, to reimagined comfort foods, and funky, new nutrient-packed ingredients. "We’re thrilled to see things like baked goods with up-cycled pulp from plant-based milks and ingredients like farmed kelp continue to gain popularity," says Sonya Gafsi Oblisk, Whole Foods' chief marketing officer. "From product labels touting sustainable practices to poultry and egg suppliers who are leading the way in animal welfare, many of this year’s trends predictions showcase brands on a mission to make a true impact." Ahead, check out the 10 food trends that you can expect to pop off on the shelves of Whole Foods next year.

All the Rules You Never Knew Restaurants Have to Follow on 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives'

First rule of Flavortown? Don't say the word "Flavortown" on camera. Since 2006, we've watched Guy Fieri travel coast to coast visiting some of the country's greatest establishments for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It's one of the biggest shows on the Food Network, and with over 648 episodes and counting, it doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. But what does it take to become a Triple D-featured spot and how does it all work? Both Fieri and producers have spilled behind-the-scenes secrets about the show throughout its 42 seasons—from who picks the restaurants to how you can tell if the host really likes a dish to what happens to these eateries after the cameras leave (spoiler: a little thing called the Triple D Effect!). Keep reading to learn about all things Flavortown and find out what really happens when Fieri rolls into your town.

Real Celeb Names You Probably Don't Know

So THAT'S how John Legend got his name. A lot can be said with a name—especially in Hollywood. Choosing the right one could potentially make or break a career in showbiz. It'll either help fans easily remember you or could result in you blending in with the crowd. Opt for something too complicated and people might not be able to pronounce it, which could mean trouble come awards season. It's not as simple of a decision as you'd think! For that reason, stars put a lot of thought into the choice. One of the biggest trends is going by a middle name. Maybe it sounds better (Meghan Markle does have a nice ring to it!), or perhaps it's just more unique (there's no denying Ashton Kutcher is more memorable than Christopher Kutcher). Other celebrities choose something more sentimental, like paying tribute to a late family member or honoring a mother or grandmother's maiden name. And when all else fails, a childhood nickname does the trick (we're looking at you, Miley). From royals to Grammy-winning singers and everyone in between, your favorite star's real name might surprise you. Learn all about how celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Olivia Wilde, Katy Perry, and others ended up being called what you know them as today.

The 11 Best Horror Movies Coming Out in 2023 That’ll Have You Shaking in Your Boots

Catch me sleeping with the light on all year. If you’re one of those people who doesn’t find real life scary enough and enjoys spending their free time being jump-scared and/or creeped out by gory horror movies (hey, no judgment here!), then I’ve got good news for you: There’s a lot—and I mean A LOT—for you to look forward to in 2023. Even for us scaredy cats, there are plenty of 2023 horror movies to get excited/terrified for, and it’s time to talk about them. First of all, we’re getting an Exorcist sequel a cool 50 years after the original film with some of the original cast returning. Oh, and there’s also a killer Winnie the Pooh movie (we know, we know, but it’s kinda intriguing, no?). There are also new installments in classic horror franchises like Saw and Scream set to come out this year too, so there really is something for every type of horror fan. Of course, not every horror movie is actually going to scare you, but I’m not gonna lie...some of these upcoming releases sound downright terrifying. (I’m looking at you, The Strangers remake!) So before watching any of these movies, I’d recommend going and grabbing a couple of your besties (there’s safety in numbers, right?) and maybe a high-quality security blanket, ’cause you’re gonna need it to last the entire year. And if you feel like you have to sleep with a nightlight on after watching the best horror movies of 2023, then you do you, boo!
